Greater Manchester Council were looking to donate a 4 acre site set on industrial land along the canal for use as a business park.

Coupdeville were approached to design a low cost, multi-unit commercial scheme for small, start-up and expanding businesses.

If successful the developer intended further projects would be continued to other city sites within the UK.

These were designed to be constructed from shipping containers that were then adapted, stacked and joined to create a low-cost structure with multiple units. The offices, cafes, terraces and shared amenities were then linked using a series of raised walkways and stairwells fixed superfluously to the containers so as not to detract from the original forms.
